MoH Urges Vigilance as Kenya Faces Rising Ebola Threat Despite No Confirmed Cases

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant as the country faces a heightened risk of Ebola infections due to ongoing outbreaks in neighboring countries. Although Kenya has not recorded any confirmed Ebola cases, health authorities have intensified surveillance, border screening, emergency preparedness, and public awareness campaigns to prevent the deadly virus from crossing into the country.

 

The warning comes amid a growing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda, where health officials continue to battle the spread of the highly contagious disease. Kenya’s strategic location as a regional transport and trade hub, combined with frequent cross-border movement, places the country at significant risk of importing Ebola cases.
