1. The New “No-Go” Zone: 7 Towns Flagged

On Sunday afternoon, the IDF issued immediate orders for residents of seven specific towns to flee north and west. Unlike previous orders, these towns sit beyond the initial 10km “Yellow Line” buffer zone.

  • The List: Residents of Yahmar, Arnoun, Meidoun, Shoukin, Kfar Tebnit, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah were told to leave immediately.

  • The Aftermath: Moments after the warning, Israeli warplanes struck Kfar Tebnit, causing multiple casualties. In Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, a mosque and a religious building were reportedly leveled by air raids.

  • Mass Exodus: AFP and NNA correspondents reported “heavy traffic” as thousands of families packed their belongings into cars, heading toward Sidon and Beirut to escape the intensifying raids.

2. A Deadly Tally: 14 Killed in 24 Hours

Sunday, April 26, 2026, was officially recorded as the deadliest day since the U.S.-mediated ceasefire came into effect.

  • The Victims: Lebanon’s Health Ministry confirmed 14 people were killed, including two women and two children. Another 37 people were wounded across several southern villages.

  • Israeli Losses: For the first time since the truce began, the IDF confirmed that one soldier was killed during combat in southern Lebanon, with four others severely wounded. This death served as the primary catalyst for Netanyahu’s move to “dismantle” the truce.

3. Netanyahu vs. Hezbollah: The Rhetoric of War

Both sides are now openly accusing the other of being the sole reason the peace is failing.

  • Netanyahu’s Stand: At his weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated: “Hezbollah’s violations are, in practice, dismantling the ceasefire… We are acting vigorously in accordance with arrangements agreed with the United States.”

  • Hezbollah’s Vow: The group rejected the accusations, calling their drone strikes on Israeli tanks in Al Bayyada a “legitimate response” to over 500 Israeli violations. They explicitly warned they would not rely on “ineffective diplomacy” or a Lebanese government they claim has failed to protect its sovereignty.
