The Kenya Esports Series (KES) is making its return to the capital this weekend for the Capital Series, the fourth leg of the national circuit. Organized by the Esports Kenya Federation (ESKF), the tournament serves as a critical qualifying round for the national finals later this year.

Nairobi’s Turn: Top Gamers Clash at Police Sacco Stadium

Following successful regional legs in Nakuru (Flamingo Series), Eldoret (Rift Series), and Kisumu (Lake Series), the circuit lands at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi. The event is set for Saturday, January 31, to Sunday, February 1, 2026.

1. What’s at Stake?

Nairobi is expected to draw the highest number of competitors to date, including gamers from neighboring counties like Kiambu, Kajiado, and Machakos.

The Prize Pool: A total of Ksh 50,000 in cash prizes is up for grabs.

National Finals: The top four finishers in each gaming category will secure a spot in the National Finals scheduled for April 2026.

Ranking Points: Competitors will also earn valuable national ranking points used to determine the overall championship standings.

2. Featured Titles

The Capital Series will focus on four core competitive titles:

EA FC 26 (Console)

eFootball (Console)

FC Mobile (Mobile)

Tekken 8 (Console)

3. Professionalizing the Game

ESKF President Ronny Lusigi noted that the series is a “historic step” in decentralizing esports from Nairobi, though the Capital Series remains the most competitive leg. The federation is using these tournaments to build a clear pathway for Kenyan talent to compete in international showpieces like the Global Esports Games.
