The Mission: Building a Sanctuary for the People

The “Walk of Love” is the flagship event for Omondi’s Sisi Kwa Sisi (“Us for Us”) campaign. Since its inception in 2024, the movement has raised over KSh 72 million through grassroots contributions, often as small as one shilling.

The target of this walk is to fund a permanent Help & Rescue Centre, which is envisioned as a one-stop sanctuary featuring:

A Fully Equipped Clinic: To provide free medical consultations to the destitute.

Rapid Response Ambulances: Two dedicated units for medical emergencies in informal settlements.

A Relief Warehouse: For storing food and basic necessities for distribution during crises.

Free Secondary School: To offer quality education to underprivileged youth who have dropped out due to lack of fees.

2. A Star-Studded Send-Off at Nyayo Stadium

The atmosphere at the starting line this morning was electric, with several high-profile personalities joining Omondi for the first few kilometers:

Mwalimu Churchill: The comedy veteran and Omondi’s mentor handed over a symbolic button to socialite Amber Ray, signifying the unity of the creative industry.

Khaligraph Jones: The rapper brought his signature energy to the crowd, walking the first leg alongside Omondi.

Jeff Koinange & Carol Radull: Media icons who pledged their platforms to amplify the fundraising efforts throughout the four-day journey.

Daddy Owen: Representing the gospel fraternity, he walked several kilometers to show solidarity with the “Sisi Kwa Sisi” vision.

3. The Grueling Route: Nairobi to Mombasa

The 486KM trek is no small feat, especially given the heat and heavy trucking traffic of Mombasa Road.

The Destination: Omondi aims to reach the Mama Ngina Waterfront in Mombasa on Valentine’s Day, February 14.

Regional Support: Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has already pledged to join Omondi for the final 10 kilometers of the walk into the coastal city.

The “Valentine’s Gift”: Omondi noted that arriving on Valentine’s Day symbolizes his love for the Kenyan people, whom he has dedicated his life to serving since transitioning from comedy to full-time activism.
